I found these 2 images in an forum. They are translating Ubuntu (Linux OS edition) in to Sinhala. These images shows an older version of Desktop welcome screen and the newer version of it. They do developing it... Congratulation guys...! Keep going...

My first Docs & Spreadsheets in Google !

Wow...! Just another cool & amazing thing from Google...! Ya.. I know that this is not the first ever web based Docs & Spreadsheet program. But for sure this will be the first in place in this trade as usual for Google, as they have millions of users globally around them.

Anyway, though I saw this new thing online few weeks back, I really didn't have anything to do. (Spreadsheets were there for months, of course). Then today I just wanted to experience it and saved some docs of some lyrics. Just to try...!

Whatsoever, It's a evolutionary product everyone to use from any corner of the world.

Ooops..! Didn't work... : (

Unfortunately my last post did not work as i expected. Then only i got to know that Blogger converts the image format to png from gif which I uploaded. Anyway nice to know more about Blogger... : )

Trip to Dambulla

In the Vesak holidays me & family went on a trip to Dambulla. On the way we visited "Athkanda Viharaya Temple" in Kurunagala.

You can find this Buddha Statue on top of the rock mountain called “Athagala” in Kurunagala.


We also visited Avukana which is bit away from Dambulla.



These are some “Stone printed” ancient BRAHMEEYA letters, can be found near Avukana Buddha Statue.

(Of course this post doesn't contain any of Dambulla photos, bcos I never use my Mobile Phone to capture them. The Photos we took are safely in albums. ;)

Vesak Festival 2550

In the period of "Vesak Poya 2550" in this year, we went to see the "Vesak Kalaapaya" at NORMADS GROUNDS in Colombo, which was media sponsored by Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (which is also known as the "National Television".

Here are two pics of the pandol (Thorana) displaying at the premises. This "Thorana" was displaying (also people were acting in some parts of the pandol) "Siri Daladawatha" story (The story of the Tooth Relic) like a drama, which was attracted by all the people who were there and as well as who watched it on tv.

Super Man Returns

While I was traveling by a "tuk tuk" in Colombo, I saw this vehicle passing by, which owns by a man called himself "THE SUPER MAN" in Sri Lanka. The reason why he calls himself, because he has traveled around the world in his life time, been to 180+ countries.

The best part is, he has a great collection of souvenirs, and guess where he's keeping them ??? Some are all around his body, some are in his fancy Tata cab, and all others are in his house (he calls it some name which I can't remember right now) which is also a fancy, strange place.

Got in to Google Page Creator!!

Finally, Google Page Creator team sent me an email saying that I can access it. So... I did...

It's so cool, it's like an on-line web designing software, and it is... It's not as hard as creating a blog like this. So thats where its handy...

But still couldn't finish my page, but I will..

OK , more NEW from Google...

Don't think that I'm gonna wright in this blog all about Google but nothing else. But anyway... :) Just to mention Google's new releases...


Google has released a software (based on Flash, i think) called "Google Video" which relates with Google Video search, and can run online Google Video results through it. It's real faster and have used cool technology as always. :) But i don't find anyplace to download this software, except in Google Pack.


This is something I really like and useful, and has everything which you needed... Google Finance. The technology they've used is amazing, Flash combined with many others, its reallt fast, unique and very very useful...


Last but not least, in Google labs also you can find some new projects going on.

I have no idea about Google Dashboard Widgets, cos it's for Mac only. :( unfortunately i dont have a Mac with me.

Google Mars.... it's some thing made just for fun of the Google developers.. i guess... ;)

Google Page creator should be something really cool, but i couldn't experience it yet, cos when i log in, it says "Sorry, we are unable to offer new accounts today." So... bad luck yet...

Google's newest release is Google Pack (Beta). Which is a pack of free software, developed by themselves and many others.

It takes only seconds to download the installation file, but takes hours to download & install. :)

I can't suscribe "Asian Tribune" news to my Google Reader, cos Asian Tribune is not RSS powered. Hope they'll work on that and make it happen... Thats too bad for themselves, bcos if so, many viewers can reach their news, through other sites, such as Google News and Google Reader.
